About The Cayman Islands

The Friendliest Place on Earth

The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory, governed by the United Kingdom, with an elected Government led by Premier, Hon. Alden McLaughlin Jr, MLA, MBE, JP, who represents a ‘United Government’ coalition. Cayman has long enjoyed political stability, with 19 districts, each represented by a Member of the Legislative Assembly.

The Cayman Islands consist of a cluster of three small islands located in the Caribbean Sea. Just 450 miles south of Miami, a short flight makes the Cayman Islands easily accessible from the United States. There are direct flights from many other international cities including New York and Toronto, and with several flights a week from London, the rest of the world is easily within reach.

Located in the Western Caribbean, the Cayman Islands lie 150 miles south of Havana, Cuba and 167 miles northwest of Kingston, Jamaica. This British Overseas Territory consists of three islands: Grand Cayman, and the sister islands Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

The Cayman Islands enjoy the privilege of a tax neutral status, meaning there is no direct tax on earnings. Along with year-round temperatures in the 80’s, breathtaking seascapes and a reputation for being the friendliest place on earth to live (thanks to Forbes Magazine) it’s clear to understand why life in the Cayman Islands has become so sought after.
